This episode in my nostalgic reminiscences brings me back from the USA to England and to my marriage to Katie an air stewardess. That’s no use. The act must be witnessed.” “How the hell can we do that on a crowded plane?” I asked. “Firstly,” said Judy “that flight won’t be crowded; it never is. And secondly we’ll have the back of the aircraft where we can recline the seats and have the witnesses stand around to give some privacy. Also we’ll brief the cabin crew to be on the safe side.” We couldn’t back out now.

Anyway, our last day came and we boarded the aircraft for home and, sure enough it was barely a quarter full. We had most of the rear of the cabin to ourselves and got our spirits up with a few bottles of wine. “Right,” said Judy, who had assumed the role of MC, for the performances “who goes first? Katie and Tony or Gill and Steve? I suggest we toss for it – with a coin, I mean. Heads goes first. I was profoundly relieved to cop for second act as I was worried that without some initial stimulation I wouldn’t get a hardon in these weird circumstances. They separated and one of the gay lads handed them a couple of paper towels to clean up. They tidied up and Katie and I took their places. By this time I was hard as a rock as I’d been groping Katie for most of the first performance and she was quite pink cheeked. Murmurs of approval all round.

We tidied ourselves up and the four new members of the Mile High Club were presented with a picolo bottle of Champagne each by the working cabin crew, and four certificates, which had been, I gather, prepared by our friends the day before. We were flushed but happy and not a little proud of our new status.
